Corsica Sardegna Sun Trip 2022

14.05.2022 - The Sun Trip
The Sun Trip The Sun Trip

This autumn, take the Tour des Iles and get a lot of sun: the Corsica Sun Trip becomes the Corsica Sardegna Sun Trip!

You liked the Corsica Sun Trip, you will love the Corsica Sardegna Sun Trip. From 25 September to 8 October 2022, join the solar adventure and set off to discover the Isle of Beauty and its Italian twin. Two destinations bathed in sunshine and ideal for roaming by solar bike.

In Corsica, the 2022 edition will follow in the footsteps of the now mythical GT20 (for those in the know, the GT20 is to cycling what the GR20 is to hiking!) On the programme: a journey through the sumptuous landscapes of an island that has remained wild, on roads that are sometimes steep, but quiet, in contact with a population with a strong culture, original and proud of its history.

In Sardinia, the 2022 route will help you discover this hidden island in the Mediterranean Sea. Its culture, its authenticity and its landscapes will be revealed to you as you cycle along. First from west to east and then from north to south, you will never tire of pedalling.

The Corsica Sardegna Sun Trip 2022 is :

  • 2 islands to discover.
  • 14 days of solar adventure.
  • 1 detailed roadbook for each of the islands specifying the recommended itineraries, the profile of the stages, the remarkable cultural or tourist points of interest.
  • Collective gatherings with accommodation and meals included every 2-3 days
  • Several times of collective conviviality during the day on the whole route.
  • Technical assistance for the solar bikes along the entire route
  • Dedicated human and organisational support.
  • Follow-up of the event by a dedicated image team in order to provide each participant with beautiful memories (photos/videos) of this experience.

The collective meeting places are specified on the event map. For Corsica, these are Saint-Florent, Corte, Bonifacio. For Sardinia, Alguero, Oresei, Santa Teresa. These locations -but not their number, 6 in total- can be modified in case of organisational needs.

Level of difficulty of the route :

The course is generally mountainous. There will be very few flat areas. For the Corsica part, the GT20 is normally planned in 12 days, but thanks to the help of the electric-solar bike, the Corsica Sardegna Sun Trip plans to do the route in 6 days! For the Sardinia part, the roadbook foresees a common itinerary from the north to the west and then two variants: the extreme south or the east coast and then back to the north.

The help of the “electro-solar” is decisive but it is advisable to have already had some experience of cycling and/or to be used to riding 100 km per day on average.

How to register and how to pay :

As in previous Regional Sun Trips (Corsica, Brittany, etc.), we prefer to have a small group of participants (15-20 people maximum), for two reasons:

  • A small group encourages team spirit, mutual aid and conviviality.
  • Group accommodation is limited at this time of year.

Registration for the Corsica Sardegna Sun Trip 2022 includes :

  • The delivery of a detailed roadbook for each of the islands specifying the recommended itineraries, the profile of the stages, the remarkable cultural or tourist points of interest.
  • The organisation and management of 6 group meetings (3 in Corsica – 3 in Sardinia) including dinner, accommodation (gite and hotel) and breakfast.
  • The organisation and management of several collective conviviality times during the day on the entire route. At least 6 collective meetings (3 in Corsica – 3 in Sardinia in addition to the meetings) including either the midday snack, the 4pm break or the aperitif.
  • Technical assistance for the solar bikes throughout the route.
  • Dedicated human and organisational support.
  • Follow-up of the event by a dedicated image team in order to provide each participant with beautiful memories (photos/videos) of this experience.
  • A return ferry service between Corsica and Sardinia.
  • The official jersey of the 2022 edition.

What is not covered:

  • The return ferry transfer between the mainland and Corsica; you must plan to arrive in Bastia no later than Sunday 25 September at 10am. The return journey can be made from Porto-Vecchio to Marseille or Toulon from Saturday 8 October.
  • The organisation and payment of meals and accommodation other than the 6 collective gatherings and the 6 “conviviality meetings”.
  • The provision of a solar bike. However, if you are interested in buying or renting a solar bike, we can provide you with contacts.

The registration fee for 2022 is set at 950 euros per person*.

*For people who can only do part of the adventure, it is possible to register only for the “Corsica” part, from 25 September (departure from Bastia) to 1 October (departure from Bonifacio for Sardinia): the registration fee is 650 euros per person, including tax.
