Patrice Plozner

– 51 years-old – France

As an executive in the automotive industry, Patrice hopped on the sustainable mobility train several years ago: he got an electric car, an electric bike, and more recently a solar trike that he assembled himself for less than €1300.

Despite not having much cycling experience to his credit, the dream of reaching China on two wheels will lead him on!

His Solar Bike

My bike is the result of my decarbonated movements evolving of the last 4 years. First, I got a mountain bike, then I installed an electric kit on it, then I manufactured a trike from a square aluminum tube structure without welding, using MTB recycled parts and an electric rear wheel. Finally, I mounted a solar panels structure. All this costed me €1300. I traveled with it in the Summer season on 3000 km. It is in perpetual evolution, and it may reveal an innovation on the battery technology, which will give it the name of Solarilus Jules Verne for the adventure.

A Few Words From The Adventurer…

Ecologist at heart, I want to prove the world that we can move while limiting our environmental impact using a low-cost electro-solar vehicle accessible to anyone, to leave future generations with a viable planet.

Deep inside I am a humanist and I wish to show that the Sun trip is an opportunity for adventurers from all over the world, with different cultures and religions, to share with the people of the different countries crossed. This journey will make us united around one cause: the hope of a future and a better world.

Being a bit of poet, I will strive to write one poem a day to introduce our followers to another dimension of this adventure.
