The Sun Trip revisits the Silk Roads across two years, 2027–2028!
This is a brand-new adventure, imagined by SunTripper Frédéric Verrons following his participation in the Sun Trip China 2025. The concept is a truly collective expedition, spread over two years and travelling from China to Europe.
In 2027, the planned route will be Guangzhou–Xi’an–Samarkand, with a departure scheduled for early September 2027. The exact border crossing for leaving China will be announced soon.
In 2028, the route will continue from Samarkand to Istanbul, with an optional sea transfer allowing participants to complete the journey all the way to Lyon.
Another unique feature of this project is that applications will be submitted by teams, following the rules outlined below. There is no registration fee. Instead, each team will be responsible for covering its own expenses.

A first selection round will take place in September 2026, followed by a second round in November 2026. A final catch-up selection round will be held in January 2027.
All that is expected of you is to give your very best.
This application form must be completed either by the captain of a team or by a solo adventurer looking to join a team that has already been approved.
