2026 will be a year with three regional projects, in Morocco, France (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), and China (around Guangzhou). The first two will be 15-day adventures, while the one in China will last one week. These are ideal experiences for getting a taste of the history of the Sun Trip!
Spring : Sun Trip Morocco 2026
Registration: on this link
In 2024, Morocco was the furthest destination of “The Sun Trip – Destination Sahara,” one of the most successful editions in the history of our adventures. In 2025, Morocco was the subject of a special edition, from Tangier to Laayoune, a project that was a great success and one that we hope to repeat every year in the spring, changing the route each time. In 2026, you can come and continue to write the legend of the Sun Trip in Morocco, enjoying an experience that will remain etched in your memory forever.
Dates : We are aiming to depart on May 5th 2026 for an adventure lasting around 15 days. The meeting point will be Tangier in Morocco, then logistics for transporting the bikes and participants will be organized.
Route : After a 2025 edition from north to south Morocco, we are considering a reverse route, starting from Laayoune and ending in Rabat. To be continued.
Level of difficulty : The Moroccan adventure requires experience in the world of bicycle travel. Cultural differences are also a factor to consider. It is a real adventure, in a world different from Europe, with weather conditions that can be difficult. When selecting participants, we will ask you about your experience and also for specific technical details about your solar bike, which will need to be tested before the Sun Trip. The 2026 edition will consist of a single group, with daily averages of around 130km, but some stages can reach 200km. There will be no race against time, but rather a points challenge to reward the best-performing participants (using 100% solar power).
Type of services : Logistics transport in Morocco + accommodation and meals for around ten nights + technical team (absolutely essential). Registration does not cover transport costs to Morocco (ferry from France or Spain).
Registration fees: A deposit of €500 will be required to secure your place (refundable if canceled by December 1, 2025). The prices listed here are the maximum rates. They may be reduced depending on partnerships and transportation needs in Morocco for participants.
- Individual participation: 1,500 euros
- Participation as a couple: 1,900 euros
- Participation on behalf of a company: 2,500 euros
Available spots : For logistical and safety reasons, we will limit the group to 20 participants for this second edition.
Registration: on this link (you will receive the complete adventure rules by email).
Be our guest : As has been done in the past, particularly for major editions of the Sun Trip, we are issuing two invitations for the Sun Trip Morocco 2026, scheduled to take place over 15 days in late April/early May. These invitations cover registration fees only. Guests must have a solar bike and finance their own travel to Morocco, like all other participants. The two guests will be selected on the basis of their applications by a committee made up of former SunTrippers, with the aim of making the project accessible and attracting talented individuals who can bring creativity. Summer : Sun Trip Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 2026
Registration: on this link This event is fully booked. Starting December 2, we will open a waiting list.
This project is both a continuation of the French regional project 2025 and a return to the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes dimension seen in 2017 and 2019! The project will therefore be a little longer, lasting around two weeks.
Dates : We are aiming to depart on June 22, 2026, with a gathering in Lyon the weekend before (June 20/21). And we are aiming to arrive around July 2 or 3. More details will be available by the end of 2025.
Route : We are currently working on a route that would start in Lyon (headquarters of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region), on June 22th, head towards the Monts d’Auvergne, and then on to the Alps. The finish line would be in Savoie, in Albertville, with a few major mountain passes along the way and perhaps an overnight stay in a mountain refuge. Here a first view of the map :
Level of difficulty : This project aims to be accessible, offering stages of approximately 100 to 130 km per day. There will be mountain ranges to tackle, but the routes will almost always offer alternatives. While you do need to have some cycling experience to take part in this adventure, you don’t need to be an expert traveler. Regular training and good technical preparation are enough to come here and push your limits. There is no race against time, but rather a points challenge to reward the best performers (using 100% solar power).
Type of services : This is an adventure that includes regular support from the organization, with two technical assistance vehicles and organized stops every 2 or 3 days (accommodation/evening meal/breakfast). We will offer a mix of hotel/gîte or refuge/camping accommodation. You must therefore bring a tent with you.
Registration fees: A deposit of €300 will be required to secure your place (refundable if canceled by January 1, 2026).
- Individual participation for 2 weeks: 950 euros
- Participation as a couple for 2 weeks: 1,500 euros
- Individual participation for 1 week: 500 euros (limited places)
- Participation for couples for 1 weeks: 800 euros (limited places)
- Participation on behalf of a company: 1,500 euros
Available spots : In order to keep the group small so that everyone can get to know each other, we will limit registrations to 30 people. 5 specific spots for week 1. 5 specific spots for week 2.
Registration: on this link This event is fully booked. Starting December 2, we will open a waiting list.

Autumn : Sun Trip China
Pre-registration: this link

Dates : mid-November. More details to follow.
Route : route under consideration between Guangzhou and Shouguan, mainly in natural areas.
Level of difficulty: The bike route is generally easy, but to participate in the Sun Trip China, you need to be an experienced traveler with a strong ability to adapt. Selection will therefore be based primarily on this criterion.
Type of services : The one-week offer includes a welcome reception and tour in Guangzhou, followed by four days of travel. Participants are responsible for their own transportation costs to Guangzhou, but almost all other costs during the trip are covered, including the use of a solar-powered bicycle.
