Champion Raf Van Hulle kicks off the mountainous part of the Sun Trip Morocco, with a first bivouac at over 2000 m altitude. The whole group will follow over the next 2 days, heading for Boulmane Dadès where a day’s break is planned.
On the 5th day of the trip, 10 participants are still on the road, and all are keeping up the pace they had imagined, thanks to the generally favorable weather.
On May 4, day 6 of our adventure, the group passed the highest point of the project. We had planned to take a road at 2600 meters, but in the end another route had been paved since our visit last year, leading directly to the Dades Gorges, with a road culminating at 2900 meters! The great dream continues.
The group split into two itineraries, through the Todra and Dades gorges, before taking a day’s break at Boulmane Dades.
A few hundred kilometers further on, Raf Van Hulle begins to see the desert part of the adventure coming, with long straights as far as the eye can see!
For some it was a day off, for others an opportunity to catch up. The participants gathered in Boulmane Dadès, a magnificent village in the heart of the mountains. Now they have to reach the Atlantic coast towards Agadir, with 450 km to cover in 3 stages through high-altitude plateau landscapes.
