The Sun Trip The Solar Bike Adventure
Adventurers on solar bikes choosing their course through Eurasia. Inspired by unassisted yacht races around the world, the Sun Trip is writing a new page in the world of overland adventures.

The Sun Trip is a showcase for new forms of mobility. Each adventurer is an ambassador of solar energy and eco-mobility, proving their efficiency and their humanist dimension.

Amazing departure

The Sun Trip The Sun Trip

A dream day for the Sun Trip, between the Grand Place, the European Commission and Ixelles, all under a blazing sun!

The participants were welcomed by the Mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, the Mayor of Ixelles, Christos Doulkeridis, the Secretary of State Barbara Trachte and the Vice-President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by the elected representatives of the city and the Metropolis of Lyon, Hélène Dromain, Fabien Bagnon and Valentin Lungenstrass The adventure can now begin!

Thank you Belgium for this memorable welcome. We will be back.

First statement:
– After having participated to the departure, Raf Van Hulle (Team John Cockerill 1) decided to stay at his home until tomorrow to get a Covid vaccination at 2pm on June 17th! After that he will try to catch up the all group. #Remontada!!
– Arnaud Negrier get a 24 ours penality for having miss the official briefing yesterday at 2pm. This penality as been decided by our jury (composed of 7 people). But he is officialy on the race.
– Patrick Boldt didn’t start, due to lastminute technical problem.
