A Revenge to be Taken!
Michel has been with the Sun Trip in many capacities starting with participating in the big SunTripper 2018, SunTripper 2020, visitor in 2017, logistician in 2019, juror in 2021, and ranking clerk in 2022.
Michel didn’t have the best of times in 2018, but this experience will certainly have allowed him to learn, and come back stronger. A donkey doesn’t stumble on the same stone twice. In 2023, the bike is ready 50 days before the start.
His first Sun Trip ended with a U-turn at the moment of the passage in Ukraine and an abandonment a few hundred kilometers further. “Stronger than Vladimir, I made it to Lviv!
Sport to change diabete.
“Type II diabetic and cardiac, I fight the disease and maintain a good quality of life through sport. For this edition, I am preparing myself like never before, I have unloaded the man, amazed my doctors and fine-tuned the mechanics. My ambition is to bring the blue jersey back to Belgium, but the yellow one would also suit me well. But it won’t be easy for the youngsters”.

His Vision of the Sun Trip
“The Sun Trip is for me one of the last great adventures which remains nevertheless affordable to an ordinary man who dreams of extraordinary. The most difficult is to take the start, then there is only to roll and to reach the end of the Sun Trip as an illustrious candidate said in 2015. If in 2018 I took the start “to see landscapes”, I now return to meet the people who live in these landscapes. Wolf & Wolf AT2 recumbent bike assembled and motorized by Heliocyclette, the association created to promote the electric (and solar) resilient bike in Wallonia. While the industry has rushed on the electric bike to make it an object of consumption with a limited lifespan, the association promotes sustainable solutions, repairable, scalable and open standards.
